“Best performance under the gaffer”

Crawley away - a journey that is not enjoyed by many of the faithful Gasheads. However, yesterday it proved to be a fantastic day out.

From start to finish Gas were the better side. Fluent movement forward and dogged defending. Chances early for Cavegn, Kamwa, and Forde but a great double save from Crawley's on loan keeper. Shaq Forde in particular was causing havoc. Then a free kick on the edge of the box, Tom James and Tommy Leigh stood over the ball. James took the kick and it rattled into the net. 1-0 Gas!

Crawley battled back and had a strong penalty claim for a foul by Harbottle, luckily it went in our favour, though we couldn't have complained if it had been given. As usually happens after something like this a Kofi Balmer punt reaches Bobby Kamwa who controls and fires past the hapless goalkeeper. Half time and total control.

Second half Crawley try all sorts changing formation putting extra attackers on but the steady Rovers defence kept hold of a precious clean sheet!

A good day for those who travelled and now looking forward to two home games. Up the Gas ⛽
